65 Buena Vista #5

I visited this property, for the 2nd time, for a friends hiking weekend. The space is perfect for 2, with maybe even the addition of a child. It is very easy to walk to the store, the hiking trails, and restaurants. I love that the whole front of the house basically opens-- with folding windows on a slider.

There wers some lightbulbs out, and we needed to buy batteries for the battery-operated (very pretty!) candle. Though I am sure that they are very difficult to maintain in the ocean climate, I feel like the outdoor furniture and cushions could use some rehab.
Overall, the location and comfort was great.

The unit was very convenient with expansive views of the ocean and the hills. For the cost I would have expected a little more on the inside. The sofa and sofa pillows were dirty/stained and in need of cleaning. The sofa bed was awful. The deck furniture was dirty/stained and in desperate need of cleaning. The deck could use a powerwash. Many of the dishes were sticky from the open shelving and not having been washed. There were no extra blankets for the sofa bed. The bed in the bedroom could use an update as well. It just seemed that everything needed an update.

Kathy in the rental office was wonderful. When the nano doors didn't quite work she had Pine Tree, the handyman come and take a look and he got them to open for us. The customer service was great.

It was a great unit to sit on the deck and people watch for sure. The full time neighbors were awesome! We actually had a drink next door one night with them. Super kind and generous people.

I'd love to stay again but would need the place to be in better shape.

Love staying here - however couch is looking dirty and outdoor furniture needs power washing. The TV goes on/off and flips what is on the screen randomly. This happens throughout day and night. Rental company tried to fix but was unsuccessful so we unplugged it.

Location was great fir beach or hiking trails. Scenery was spectacular. Bedroom mattress and living room couch not comfortable to sleep or sit on. Mattress needs upgrade. Sofa was clean but was difficult to sit on for TV viewing. Dining seats made of very hard wood. Outdoor seating better plus great view. Hard to recommend to friends after our experience.

The space was lovely and clean. We loved the opening glass panels leading to the big deck which we used daily! Thank you for the great vacation!

Overall, this is a wonderful, cozy place to stay. The place is cozy and yet has the feeling of space because of the nanodoors, which open up on to the front deck. Sharing with near by neighbors passing through to get to their rental was easy and unobtrusive. According to our 15 year old son,the foldout couch is pretty old and worn and could use updating. There are some quirks to the doors and locks, but they are easy to learn and adjust to. Perfect place for a couple, a little tight for 3-4 but doable!

My husband and I wanted to explore a new area for an anniversary trip. This cottage was a perfect place for two! Wonderful restaurants, hiking trails and a beautiful beach all within walking distance. The place was just as described if not better.

I decided last minute to getaway and Highway One was extremely responsive, and accommodating. They allowed me to check-in early and checkout late. The property was clean and the view is breathtaking. I would highly recommend booking a vacation here. What a great town!

You should disclose that Unit #6 has to walk next to and then across the deck in front of the big glass windows of our unit #5. It was a most unpleasant surprise while laying out sunbathing. Felt like I was living in a fish tank. YOU NEED TO DISCLOSE THIS, IT IS UNETHICAL NOT TO.

We loved the Stinson bungalow. It’s got a huge gorgeous deck with a view of the town and the ocean and gorgeous California sunsets. The location is perfect, just a block from the central market in Stinson and about two blocks from the beach - an easy walk down the hill. The bungalow itself has been redone so it’s lovely inside with white washed wooden beam ceilings and an airy feeling with the glass doors that open up onto the deck. The doors take up most of the west-facing wall so there’s a real indoor-outdoor feeling to the place. There were a couple minor downsides: the doors are very tricky to work. Even with the super-detailed instructions we were unable to successfully lock them from the outside so we ended up leaving them unlocked everyday when we’d go to the beach. Luckily Stinson seems to be pretty safe and nothing was stolen. Also the barbecue didn’t work, which was disappointing because we’d planned to grill one night. The other thing, and maybe this wouldn’t be an issue if you aren’t big cooks, was that the kitchen was missing some basic things, like kitchen towels and cooking utensils (such as a rubber spatula or even something simple like a wooden spoon). The only cooking utensils seemed to be for the barbecue, which, as I mentioned, didn’t seem to work. Also the sheets for the pullout couch weren’t with the other extra bedding (in the linen closet) so we didn’t end up finding the extra sheets till the last day (they were in a basket I’m the bedside table in the bedroom). Plus the lighting could have been warmer in all the rooms. But all in all it was a gorgeous rental with lots of light and charm, gorgeous views and a perfect location. Plus the staff at HWY One Properties was so nice and helpful. They gave us a fresh loaf of bread from the amazing Parkside Cafe when we arrived, which went great with the seafood stew we made that night! I highly recommend this rental.

Overall it was a really nice place, the pictures we accurate to the size of the unit. Only issues we had is we had trouble lighting the grill so we didn't bother to use it. The bed was a little too small, no reason not to have a queen bed in the bed room as it would easily fit. The first night a group of 8 stayed in unit #6, they quite, and not a issue, I assume you approved.

The cottage is clean and cozy, the kitchen is well equipped and the queen bed is very comfy. Only negative is the sofa bed which is rather dirty and the bed is not usable. There were 3 of us, my 2 kids and me, and they ended up sharing the queen bed and I slept on the sofa, not the sofa bed. The deck is nice with plenty of seating. It's in a great location, 5 minutes from the beach and one block from the town.

My husband and I wanted a weekend break by the shore and found this wonderful place at Stinson Beach.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you may need and the bifolding glass doors onto the spacious deck made the place unique.
We popped over to the market in Point Reys to pick up food and provisions.
There is also a small market in Stinson that is well stocked plus a great bakery by the beach for fresh bread from 7:30 am.

There are steps to get to the property but are worth it because the views of the sun setting from the elevated height over the Pacific are breathtaking.
I have already recommended this place to friends in the city!

My wife and I stayed for four nights to both see the sights in the area and to relax on the beach. This place was the perfect size for us.

It was well equipped, all of the appliances worked, the wifi signal was good, no problems with water pressure -- it was a comfortable stay.

The weather was gorgeous so we spent a lot of time on the deck. You overlook other houses, the main street, and then the park/beach. It was nice spot to sit in the morning, have breakfast, and plan the day.

There is no AC so the inside got very stuffy while we were out for the day (80+ degrees inside, 70 degrees outside) so we got in the habit of opening up the doors and windows while we hung out on the deck before dinner. The row of doors on the deck all open up and cool things down quickly.

It close enough to the main street to walk to restaurants and the little market. The beach was a bit further but still walk-able.

If you plan on cooking/eating at the house (which we did for several meals) make sure to stop for your food before you get to the area. The local marker is very expensive. We went to the Safeway in Mill Valley to stock up. There are plenty of pots and pans, utensils, plates, etc.

Parking was curbside and quite crowded on the weekend. We had no trouble finding a spot but we were usually several houses away.

All in all, I'd happily stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at this cozy little house. The design is bright and clean and the folding glass doors let in wonderful breezes. The kitchen is well-stocked and spacious. Occupants at the neighboring cottage do need to cross the deck for access to #6. It's not an inconvenience but worth noting if you prefer complete privacy. Look forward to returning ASAP.
